Deck the Halls - Finished!

I actually completed this almost a month ago, but then it took a while before I found time to block it, and then I had to get some pictures, but anyway, here it is all done.  It was a pretty easy knit, and not too challenging to block.

The colors are nice.

And it is a nice size.

Deck the Halls - Days 13-19

I have been making good progress on this shawl, despite having to tink back yesterday because I did not completely read the pattern row and got all the way to the end and did not have the correct number of stitches.  Sigh.  I also had a missing yarn over on a lace row last week, but was able to find that and fix it.  I am trying to remember to check and double check everything to make sure I don’t miss something.  I’m doing a lot of counting, but it beats tinking back and re-knitting.  I am going to go ahead and try to finish this up this weekend as I have tomorrow off.

Deck the Halls - Days 6-12

I have also been managing to keep up with the 2022 Sweet Georgia Yarns Advent kit, and have managed to avoid tinking back by assiduously counting the stitches.  I use a row counter and count by 10s.  It works very well.  I did run short on color 6, but as I actually have two of these sets I raided my second set to get enough yarn to finish the row.  I am saving my leftovers from this set, and can use them when I work the crochet pattern with the second set, if I need to.

Deck the Halls - Days 1-5

I have mentioned in the past that I have a number of Advent Calendar yarn sets in my stash.  This is the 2022 Sweet Georgia Yarns Advent Calendar.  I accidentally bought two.  Fortunately it comes with two patterns, one knit and one crochet.  This is the knit one.  Unfortunately there is no yarn information included so not only do I not know the yarn base - one sparkly, one not - I also don’t know the color names.  One of the projects on Ravelry does have the color names listed under the daily photos, so I can get them if I really want to.

The pattern isn’t too difficult, but it has increases on both right and wrong sides and I find that I do need to count my stitches regularly to make sure I haven’t lost one, or gained one, like I did last night when I fell asleep while knitting.
