Trinus Shawl - Stripes Done

This shawl has been getting worked on whenever I needed some mindless knitting.  For a while it didn’t seem like I was really making much progress, but then suddenly I was done and ready to start the mosaic section.  Winding up the third skein I got to admire the subtle color variation in it, some greens in with the blues, very deep water like.  Here I’ve done just the first row and back of the mosaic.  Now I have the fun of dealing with three yarn cakes.  I do like the I-cord edging, and understand why it was done, given that I’ll be juggling three skeins for a while.

Caladenia Shawl MKAL - Clues 2 and 3 Done

Clues 2 and 3 were mosaic.  When the pictures of clue 3 started going up on Ravelry I had serious color envy for the four color ones and contemplated adding a fourth color to my shawl.  I even went stash diving and came up with a fourth color - Anniversary Teal.
In the end I decided against adding a fourth color, although I did do more stash diving to see if there were other skeins I could use for a four color version.

Trinus Shawl - Cast On

While I was stash diving for an alternative set for the Caladenia Shawl, this trio caught my eye.  It was not right for Caladenia, but I’ve been wanting to make the Trinus shawl and have been having a hard time finding a set I thought would work.  I think this set will work perfectly.  It is another trio from the Unique Sheep, called By the Shore.  I need something fairly mindless for work now that I have finished Elinya.  I do love working with this yarn base, Kiri, and with Unique Sheep yarns in general.  They just make me happy.

Caladenia Shawl MKAL - Clue 1 Done

The first clue of the mystery knit along came out this past Thursday, and I cast on Friday.  I was originally going to do the four color version with a set of Zen Yarn Garden Serenity Silk Single yarn that I have had in stash for quite a while.  I had gotten them out and caked them up to make a second Lunar Fade by Larissa Brown, but I was inspired by Ambah’s color way to repurpose them for this shawl.  They were sitting in the bottom of a project bag for a while and unfortunately carpet beetles got to them before I did.  I am still assessing the damage and how much of the yarn can be saved.  So, I went stash diving again and looked for an alternative.  This trio spoke to me.
It is an Autumn Trio from 2017.

Arrowhead Shawl - Month Three Done

I also knit up month three of my Arrowhead Shawl this past Friday.  I took off early from work, having worked late Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so I had a nice relaxing afternoon knitting and reading.  I wasn’t sure about the color this month, it is very close to the color from last month and I wondered if there had been a mistake, but looking at the pictures on the pattern card, that is the way it is supposed to be.  I have been working my ends in as I go so I won’t have much to weave in when I’m done.

Elinya - Finished!

A couple of longs days of meeting helped me make progress on this shawl and I finished it up on April 1. I did take two days to do the cast off.  I gave it a good blocking to stretch it out, using my blocking wires through the picots.
Based upon my yarn usage I could have gotten a couple of more stripes, although I did follow the guidance in the pattern and stop the stripes when I had about 20 grams of Color A left.  It might also look nice with a little more of Color A at the bottom.  I worked it per the pattern, but think a couple of garter rows before the eyelets would look nice.
